We are currently hiring experienced Geotechnical Drilling Supervisor and Rope Access Technician. We are seeking all levels Rope Access Technician (Level 3) & Geotechnical Drilling Supervisor but specifically positions requiring leadership and judgment skills as well as an exceptional ability to organize, plan, and anticipate potential adversity. The ideal candidate will have related industry experience. Experience in geotechnical slope remediation, drilling, anchoring, scaling, mesh and rockfall systems, structural inspections, and related industries are an asset. Applicants with a thorough understanding of Geotechnical hazard mitigation, slope stabilization, or rope access will be given preference. Geotechnical or engineering education is considered an asset.
Our Drillers / Supervisors / Rope Technicians work closely with BAT's leadership team, clients, and contractors and will consistently build and maintain these relationships by aligning with our Core Values.
Responsibilities:
- Drilling Operations:
- Perform and supervise drilling operations for geotechnical investigations and stabilization projects.
- Operate and maintain drilling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with drilling standards and safety regulations.
- Perform site assessments, geotechnical sampling, and soil testing.
- Rope Access with Geotechnical Experience:
- Perform rope access tasks for high-angle inspections, maintenance, and specialized projects.
- Install and maintain rope access rigging and anchor systems.
- Assist with mesh installation, scaling, and rockfall systems using rope access techniques.
- Provide technical expertise in rope access operations and assist with high-angle drilling and geotechnical tasks.
- Team Supervision & Leadership:
- Supervise and lead a team of drillers, technicians, and support staff.
- Provide direction and training to junior team members in both drilling and rope access tasks.
- Ensure that team members adhere to safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to project managers and clients.
- Site Operations & Safety:
- Conduct safety assessments and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Manage operational logistics for the project, ensuring that equipment and resources are optimized.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to both drilling and rope access operations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- A valid Irata Rope Access Certification is required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Construction environment is preferred.
- Geotechnical experience required.
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing.
- Willingness to work at remote locations, as required.
- Physically capable of flexible, heavy work.
- IRATA certification or experience is an asset.
- COR certification or experience is an asset.
- Class 5 driver’s license.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Excellent teamwork skills.
- Must have a Continuous Improvement mindset, including sound problem identification and problem resolution skills.
Salary: $33.21 - $47.45 per hour (depending on experience)
