The City of Iqaluit is looking for a Roads Labourer to join our team!

Salary: $30.99 per hour, 40 hour/week

Settlement Allowance: $20,907.43 per annum

Union Status: Unionized

The Roads Labourer plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and safety of municipal infrastructure. This position involves performing a variety of manual labor tasks related to municipal services, including road maintenance, waste management, and equipment operation. The Roads Labourer is responsible for ensuring that public spaces such as sidewalks, streets, and municipal grounds are well-maintained, clean, and free of hazards.

Required Education and Experience

Minimum Level of Education/Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Minimum Level of Experience:

• Previous experience in municipal services, construction, public works, or manual labor is an asset.

Additional Requirements:

Security

• Due to the nature of the position, a satisfactory criminal record check and driver’s abstract is required.

Indigenous Language

• Preferred.

Note: Equivalencies that include a combination of education and experience may be considered at the time of selecting candidates when the requisite skill attainment can be demonstrated.

All relevant certifications are required at time of application. The successful candidate would be required to submit a Criminal Record Check.
