Position: Cardiothoracic ICU RN

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Valid NC RN License or Compact State RN License required.
  2. Heart experience preferred.
  3. ACLS and BCLS required.

The CVT is an 18-bed acuity adaptable unit specializing in cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, and management of intra-aortic balloon pumps and Impella devices. Nurses develop strong assessment skills and become experts at managing drip titrations, chest tubes, and ventilators. With the acuity adaptable approach, nurses manage care of the patient requiring open heart surgery from admission through discharge. This setting provides for efficient patient care and strengthens the nurse/patient relationship. Nurses are required to obtain and maintain ACLS certification.
