We're currently hiring for our GI Endoscopy unit—bring your expertise and passion to this specialized area!
As a Staff Nurse, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assess patients' physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Incorporate teaching into care plans to educate patients and families.
- Make referrals to resources as needed.
- Support fellow healthcare professionals.
- Operate within the framework of Providence Health Care's mission, vision, and values.
What You Bring
Education:
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Advanced preparation in GI Endoscopy that includes completion of recognized post-basic education in gastroenterology/GI endoscopy nursing and a certificate of completion from the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) in gastroenterology, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Preference given to those with recent related GI endoscopy experience.

Your Day to Day:
- Gather and analyze patient information to develop, implement and revise individualized, evidence‑based care plans.
- Provide hands‑on nursing interventions, delegate tasks to support staff, and guide the multidisciplinary team in delivering safe, effective treatments.
- Track patient progress, evaluate outcomes against goals, and communicate changes or concerns promptly.
- Identify and meet learning needs of patients, families and staff through teaching; mentor new nurses and students.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in line with professional standards and policies.
- Coordinate discharge plans by connecting patients and families with community resources and support agencies.
- Help develop and evaluate policies, participate in research and quality‑improvement activities, and advocate for patient dignity and respect.
