Job description

Bargaining Unit: OPSEU
Status: Casual
Department: Community Support
Site: St. Joseph's Health Centre
Shifts: Days, Evening, and Weekends
Rate of Pay: $39.07 - $56.00 per hour


Qualifications:

  • Currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario, with experience in psychiatric nursing
  • Annual retraining in Basic Cardiac Life Support and current certification in First Aid
  • Knowledge, skills and experience in: community assessment, treatment & rehabilitation; crisis management and advocacy
  • Advanced skills in reasoning, problem solving, researching, decision-making, and workload organization
  • Advanced communication skills (verbal, nonverbal, behavioural, written, therapeutic, and social)
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative and client-focused
  • Demonstrated team and independent work skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and shift work schedules as assigned in community locations
  • Will be required to travel to various locations within the community and provide own reliable transportation
  • Demonstrated regular attendance at work

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.

Offers of employment made to external candidates are conditional upon providing proof of COVID-19 vaccination as per the SJCG Immunization Policy IMS-04-005 or proof of valid medical exemption, prior to the offered effective date. If proof of vaccination or valid medical exemption is not provided, the offer of employment is rescinded.
