Cypress Mountain is recruiting a fun, motivated, and skilled Manager of Retail to join our vibrant team! As the leader of Big Bear Sports, you’ll play a key role in providing top-notch customer service while contributing to the growth and success of retail operations.
You’ll work closely with our amazing management team, both on Cypress and across Boyne Resort’s Corporate Retail Management & Buying Group, all while embracing the outdoor spirit that makes Cypress Mountain so unique.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
(included but not limited to the following):
- Lead Big Bear Sports: Hire, onboard, and train a team of passionate individuals who share your love for the outdoors.
- Set the Brand Vision: Act as the brand ambassador, ensuring the Cypress Mountain experience shines through at every touchpoint.
- Collaborate & Grow: Work with senior leaders to find new growth opportunities and help drive revenue through innovative strategies.
- Plan Fun Promotions: Lead the charge in creating special offers and targeted promotions that get our guests excited and keep the sales rolling.
- Manage Budgets: Take charge of the expense and revenue budgets while ensuring we hit our goals (and exceed expectations).
- Uphold Boyne Standards: Ensure our retail outlets pass audits with flying colors, maintaining the highest standards of service and organization.
- Create Connections: Build partnerships to enhance guest experience and elevate our marketing efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES
- Passion for the Outdoors: Retail experience in ski resorts, outdoor recreation, hospitality, or tourism is a big plus! If you’re an intermediate or advanced skier or snowboarder, that’s even better!
- Leadership Skills: You’re a natural leader who can inspire and motivate your team, while also managing time and tasks efficiently.
- Organization: You can juggle multiple responsibilities, staying calm under pressure while keeping everything running smoothly.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a knack for navigating systems and tools quickly. RTP experience an asset.
- People Skills: You connect with people easily, can anticipate their needs, create a connection while selling products that contribute to making memorable guest experiences.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- 5+ years of retail management experience
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
- Valid driver’s license
- An insured and reliable vehicle with winter tires (no shuttle service in the off-season months)
WAGE/BENEFITS
- Wage: $75,000 – $85,000 dependent on experience
