Job description

Gusto Restaurant in Caledon is looking for an energetic, customer-focused leader to manage daily front-of-house operations and take charge of planning, promoting, and hosting our weekly events. You’ll work closely with the bar and service teams to ensure a top-tier guest experience while making our venue a go-to spot for entertainment.

Responsibilities

  1. Oversee all front-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional customer service
  2. Greeting and engaging customers with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
  3. Plan, promote, and host poker nights, karaoke nights, and trivia nights
  4. Create an engaging atmosphere during events, interacting with guests and participants
  5. Train and manage front-of-house staff (servers, bartenders, hosts)
  6. Assist in developing themed drink specials and promotions for event nights
  7. Work with marketing to promote events on social media and within the community
  8. Ensure smooth service coordination between the kitchen, bar, and entertainment areas
  9. Monitor customer feedback and resolve any service-related issues
  10. Manage inventory, especially for bar and event-related needs
  11. Maintain compliance with health, safety, and liquor laws
  12. Handle administrative tasks such as creating weekly schedules and managing employee timetables
  13. Take a hands-on approach to closing duties, including thorough cleaning and preparation for the next day.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 5 years of proven experience in restaurant/hospitality management with a passion for hosting events
  2. Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house dynamics.
  3. Comfortable hosting and engaging a crowd during poker, karaoke, and trivia nights
  4. Background in cocktail creation and bar operations is a big plus
  5. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  7. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  8. Experience with POS systems, reservations, and event ticketing is a bonus
  9. Availability to work evenings and weekends (especially for event nights)
