Our Airbus Atlantic site based in Mirabel is looking for its future: Technical Structural Stress Lead - A220 Aft Fuselage.
Position Overview
As part of the A220 aircraft program's industrialization, in collaboration with our partner/customer (Airbus Canada), the primary role of the Technical Structural Stress Lead - A220 Aft Fuselage is to assume a leadership role in guiding analysts specializing in structural calculations for all projects related to the A220 aft fuselage structure.
The A220 aft fuselage is a hybrid primary structure combining both metallic and composite materials. The Stress Lead will be responsible for providing technical guidance to structural analysts, ensuring the successful delivery of analyses while overseeing technical priorities and providing strategic input. Key responsibilities include technically supervising analysts, managing priorities, estimating project timelines, presenting plans and results to management, and acting as the technical authority for approving structural certification reports. This role reports directly to the A220 Stress Team Leader.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the technical scope is respected according to client requirements, program needs, and manufacturing specifications;
- Participate in stress analysis for the primary structure, secondary structure, and system installations within their scope:
- Make technical decisions related to the stress analysis of the primary structure;
- Make technical decisions for fixed and movable supports;
- Make technical decisions for system installations;
- Develop and verify test plans with laboratories. Review test reports and analyze results;
- Prepare key technical deliverables and ensure the compliance of these deliverables with the requirements of Airbus Atlantic and the client;
- Provide visibility on the technical scope to their management and the program (technical summaries, technical progress status, identification of technical risks);
- Participate in the analysis and implementation of product changes with the program, supply chain, production, and clients;
- Prepare impact analyses for the incorporation of changes;
- Ensure technical interface with their counterpart at the client;
- Intervene and provide expertise to resolve non-conformity issues with parts and assembly line issues;
- Analyze complex problems, organize investigations and experiments to find root causes, and recommend solutions;
- Propose solutions to unusual problems and approve calculation analyses in collaboration with the Technical Authorities;
- Develop implementation plans for product changes within their area of expertise in the short, medium, and long term;
- Define plans and coordinate the team’s activities according to ongoing projects.
PROFILE REQUIRED
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering;
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in stress analysis of aerostructures;
- Knowledge in stress calculations of primary metallic and composite structures, secondary structures, and system installations;
- Familiarity with aerospace calculation processes and methods (AIRBUS Atlantic, BOMBARDIER, AIRBUS Canada);
- Proficiency in Catia/Enovia, NASTRAN, PATRAN;
- Experience in calculations of sheet metal and machined parts;
- Experience in calculations of composite parts;
- Knowledge of configuration management rules;
- Awareness/sensitivity to tolerancing (GD&T);
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Bilingual in English and French (verbal and written).
