Residential Worker (CF) - Resettlement Assistance Program
Catholic Social Services is currently seeking a one (1) full-time contract full time, 40 per week, Residential Workers in EDMONTON to join our Resettlement Assistance Program. Providing excellent client-centered care, you are confident, thoughtful, and motivated to achieve success when supporting others in your community.
This contract position for one year until July 30, 2025.
In this program, you will look after the country's new comers (refugees) by maintaining a warm welcoming environment and providing social services in accordance with the Agency’s philosophy.
Job Duties:
- Provide basic orientation about life skill and Mandatory self-Isolation
- Preparing units for newcomers (Refugees) who are temporary accommodated in the facility
- Purchasing food, preparing meal and serve for New arrivals (Refugees)
- Respond to client’s request and contact the appropriate person to deliver the needed support Egg; CSS Counsellor, CIC officer, Doctors, Community Leaders, Spiritual leaders etc.
- Monitoring building security and responding to emergency related issues
- Be at work in accordance with the work schedule unless otherwise approved by the Immediate supervisor
- Promoting diverse and non-judgmental environment
- Assist in the development and maintenance of a milieu in which the special needs of the clients and/or families can be assessed and treated
- Assist and collaborate with any emergency personal who may come to assist client in need
- Purchase and maintain inventory of groceries and household supplies before clients arrive
- Assist with providing food and incidental money for new arrivals, and updating lists of arrivals
- Ensure each client unit equipped with devices such as, TV, Cellular phone, Internet, watch, PPE etc.
- Maintain professional conduct, boundaries, and ethical standards
- Assist in maintaining the building and equipment according to Agency standard
- Update client record (Log-Book) shift to shift communication log, moving day, and cleaning schedule
- Complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense report, vacation requests etc.
- Participate cooperatively in the agency performance management process
- Participate in ongoing professional development and mandatory training
- Actively participate in workplace, departmental and job-specific health and safety orientation, education and training
- Use or wear personal protective equipment (PPE) if it required
- Perform other deities deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor
What This Job Requires:
- Relevant Diploma/Degree (or equivalent)
- Relevant certifications or designations
- Years of professional experience
The ideal candidate will have an organized and compassionate approach to the work, strong teamwork skills, and a commitment to developing positive supporting relationships. Other qualifications include:
- Excellent organization and planning skills, and attention to detail; must be able to manage multiple tasks with the ability to work independently
- Strong ethics, along with a commitment to confidentiality.
- Plan and organize work effectively and ensure its completion.
- Good Communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proven team player; demonstrates flexibility, and adaptability.
- Police Information Check including vulnerable sector search within six (6) months
- Intervention Record Check current within six (6) months
Police Information Check including vulnerable sector search and Intervention Record Check are conditions of employment and the financial responsibility of the candidate. A personal vehicle and driver's abstract is also required.
