Residential Support Worker - Pavilion Women's Centre - Haileybury, ON

  • Wage Range: $20.55-22.19

Residential Support Workers provide feminist-based, compassionate and innovative supports, counseling and therapeutic/activity-based group programming for women and their children who are living in the shelter. They assist women in developing goals, a plan of action, and strategies while encouraging a caring, healthy, safe, and positive work and residential setting. Responsibilities include performing case management, assessing personal safety, and referring to additional counseling and legal supports with a harm reduction approach. Staff promote support groups and activities to help women through this difficult time, providing productive outlets for personal growth and healing. Additionally, they prevent, manage, and defuse any behavioral issues that arise within the shelter.

Job requirements

  • Bilingualism preferred (English and French)
  • Diploma or degree in Social Work or equivalent experience
  • Vulnerable sector check
  • Driving record check
  • Own transportation, Valid driver's license
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate, Food Handler Training, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
  • Experience with administrative and office activities, research techniques, and food preparation
  • Up-to-date Covid-19 Vaccinations
