Under the supervision of Prof. David Wachsmuth - School of Urban Planning, the job is a full-time Research Assistant 1 position conducting geospatial data collection and compilation of data working with the Curbcut team (curbcut.ca) at McGill University to build a new public national housing data platform, funded by the federal government.

The position will involve:

1. Working with the rest of the Curbcut team to build a cutting-edge pipeline for ingesting and transforming geospatial data across a range of spatial and temporal scales.
2. Contributing to a large and complex multi-language codebase.

Qualifications:

• Possesses subject matter expertise acquired through a BSc/Bachelor of Engineering or higher degree.
• Has a minimum of 2 years relevant experience to the research project.
• Previous experience developing a large geospatial analysis web application.
• At least one year experience with the following technologies:
• postgreSQL
• postGIS
• maplibre
• Node.JS
• React
• Typescript
• AWS
• French/English bilingual.
• Ability to work in a small team.

Salary: $29.21 hourly

Hours per week: 40
