Under supervision, performs professional work to support scientific, applied research in human sciences. Assists in planning research, developing Institutional review board applications for human subjects’ research. Prepares moderately complex computer applications for data capture from survey instruments. Supports procedures related to the completion of the landscape scan/needs assessment for the USVI Family First Child Welfare Research Partnership project. Collects and analyzes primary and secondary quantitative and qualitative research data. Designs and develops tables and graphs and assists with the computation of descriptive statistics to summarize data.
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, mathematics, statistics, or a related area/field and three (3) years of relevant applied research experience in higher education or a related agency. Relevant applied research experience and/or knowledge required.
Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of scientific research approaches.
Demonstrated time management, organizational, interpersonal, and written/oral communication skills.
Ability to operate a personal computer and basic business software, to include the Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrated skill in Remark Office OMR , SAS , SPSS , GIS Mapping, or related software.
Ability to work collaboratively as well as be self-directed and work independently.
Ability to prioritize workload and assigned tasks.
Ability to exercise good judgement and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to provide professional customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to develop robust evidence tables.
Prior experience with human subjects’ research.
Prior experience with the analysis of qualitative data.
Prior experience using SAS , SPSS , and/or qualitative data analysis techniques.
