Rental Attendant

Requirements COLUMBIA RIVER PADDLE RENTAL ATTENDANT – DOCKS

Full-time position

At Columbia River Paddle we pride ourselves on exceptional customer service, join our team and spend your summer at the water’s edge. Rental Attendants are responsible for assisting customers with the rental process and providing excellent customer service. This position involves interacting with guests, providing trip and paddling information, readying and tidying away boats and equipment as needed.

Responsibilities:

1. Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, communicate with customers about what services are available.
2. Explain trip overviews and safety protocols for canoe, kayak and SUP use.
3. Ensure customers are properly fitted with life jackets and other necessary gear before they launch.
4. Provide onshore basic paddling instruction and assist customers into and out of the craft.
5. Ensure that all equipment is in good condition and clean before and after each use.
6. Process rental transactions, including handling cash, credit card payments, and completing necessary paperwork.
7. Report any damaged or missing equipment to the supervisor for replacement or repair.
8. In case of emergencies or incidents, follow established procedures and communicate with supervisors or emergency personnel as necessary.
9. Keep the rental area clean and organized.
10. Maintain cleanliness of canoes and other equipment, ensuring they are properly stored, cleaned, and ready for the next rental.
11. Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure smooth daily operations.
12. Communicate any customer concerns or operational issues to the Canoe Rental Shift Supervisor.
13. Assist in training new staff as needed and contribute to a positive team environment.

Job Requirements:

1. Previous experience in customer service is an asset but not required.
2. Basic computer skills and ability to learn POS systems.

Minimum Hiring Rate: $17.40 (based on experience)
