The Relief Resident Care Coordinator (RRCC) is responsible for managing all health care functions for Long Term Care and Extended Care (LTC/EC) in Yellowknife (YK) Region after regular business hours. The RRCC is a member of the resident care team who uses the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation), in accordance with established standards of nursing practice and the philosophy and objectives of the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) to ensure that the residents’ physical, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs are met.
Reporting to the Manager, the RRCC works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders in developing, implementing, and maintaining the highest standard of resident care and services in accordance with NTHSSA Mission, Vision, and Values.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
The successful completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) and ten years of experience with five of those years being in a Long Term Care or Extended Care setting. Certification in Gerontology would be an asset. Must be eligible for registration with the College and Association of the Northwest Territories/Nunavut (CANNN).
