Job description

The Reception Clerk at Jackson’s Point Conference Centre (JPCC) is the first point of contact for guests and visitors. This role is essential for ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for all guests. The Receptionist Clerk will manage a variety of tasks including greeting visitors, handling inquiries, answering the phone, coordinating room bookings, and performing administrative duties to support the smooth operation of JPCC.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Completion of Secondary School.
  2. Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration or Office Management is preferred.

Experience and Knowledge

  1. Minimum of one (1) year of prior related experience as a receptionist, administrative assistant, or in a customer service role.
  2. Experience with office equipment (e.g., phones, printers).
  3. Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office software.

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage with visitors and staff effectively.
  2. Strong customer service orientation with a focus on providing a positive experience.
  3. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and maintain organized records.
  4. Effective problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues as they arise.
  5. High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling administrative tasks and records.
  6. Comfortable using office technology and Microsoft applications.
  7. Friendly and approachable demeanor with strong interpersonal skills.
  8. Flexible and adaptive depending on needs.
  9. Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
  10. Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening.
  11. Ability and willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
