Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and performance of cutting-edge mining equipment? As a Reliability Engineer at Finning, you'll provide essential technical support and data analysis to enhance our equipment management processes. Your primary focus will be on proactive diagnostic management and managing the reliability and performance of mining machines. By collaborating with customers' reliability and maintenance personnel, Finning’s branch operations, the Mining Equipment Management team, and Caterpillar, you'll play a key role in improving customer satisfaction. 1. Investigate and report on equipment failures, including field research and data collection.
2. Analyze components' performance in terms of life, durability/reliability, and history.
3. Manage service letters and updates for equipment on site.
4. Analyze and report equipment performance in terms of availability and other specific KPIs.
5. Provide technical support to drive improvement projects.
6. Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures.
7. Produce periodical fleet reports on various technical and operational indicators.
8. Monitor mining equipment condition, including downloading and analyzing electronic information.
9. Collect and report data on component performance.
10. Monitor and develop trend information on payload management practices.
11. Support and drive process improvement initiatives.
12. Provide technical support for maintenance personnel and technical problem solutions.

1. Post-secondary education in Mechanical, Mining, or Material Engineering.
2. Registration as a Professional Engineer or E.I.T is preferred.
3. Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in an industrial environment such as mining, oil and gas, and/or marine applications.
4. Experience with CAT mining equipment, including Large Mining Machines, would be an asset.
5. Understanding of CAT instruments: SISWEB, Dealer Connect, TMIWEB, ET, and VIMS.
6. Knowledge of equipment design, engineering drawings, design standards, and specifications.
7. Mechanical aptitude, including understanding of Mining Machine components (diesel engines, hydraulic systems, powertrain, pumps, cylinders, structures, etc.).
8. Understanding of condition monitoring, including SOS.
9. Proficiency in MS Office packages.
10. Good understanding of electrical and electronics.
11. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

1. This position will be based out of our client site in Fort McMurray.
2. Travel to and from Fort McMurray as well as accommodations are available for applicants outside of Fort McMurray.
3. Permanent, full-time role.
