We are seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist to join our well-established downtown practice. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Position: Registered Dental Hygienist (NOC 3222)
Type: Full Time, permanent position, 40 hours weekly
Wage: CAD $47.00 - $52.00 hourly
About the Role:
Identify the dental hygiene treatment plan according to individual patients' needs, ensuring that patient oral health is the focus.
Responsibilities:
- Using best practices for infection control including processing instruments and treatment rooms;
- Performing medical health history screening and updates;
- Conducting baseline and routine assessments (including full mouth charting, probing, oral cancer screening);
- Taking radiographs and impressions (as prescribed by the Dentist), intraoral photos;
- Identifying conditions and oral diseases such as: gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis;
- Dental hygiene treatment planning, including patient-specific preventive dental care (scaling, prophy, fluoride, etc. as required);
- Educating patients by providing oral hygiene instruction, plaque control instructions, and postoperative instructions as required;
- Maintaining accurate documentation/charting;
- Identifying gaps in clinical schedule and assisting with scheduling, such as booking preventive recall appointments and following up with outstanding treatment plans;
- Collaborating with colleagues during down-time in schedule (Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants, Dentists, and Administration); and
- Attending continuing education events from time to time.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Dental Hygiene
- Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing with the CDHO
- 2 years or more experience as a Dental Hygienist
- Experience ensuring infection control
- Experience in making assessments of oral health, hard tissue, periodontal conditions, oral hygiene care.
- Experience in different types of intraoral radiographs and their interpretation.
- Experience in gathering client’s health history information, ability to assess risks associated with treatment plan
- Trained in Covid-19 IPAC regulations in client care.
- Experience with Dental software such as SAPPHIRE, Tracker, and Abeldent.
- Outstanding communication skills and attention to detail
- A friendly personality who works collaboratively with a team
