Job Description
Directs and coordinates activities of each terminal in their region to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities and personnel by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Principal Responsibilities – 40%
Ensure all terminals run in a profitable and efficient manner; this includes monitoring freight levels, reviewing terminal financials, and reviewing daily revenues and costs.
Customer Relations and Business Development – 15%
Address customer service issues, such as investigating service failures and claims, and develop and implement procedures to reduce problems and improve efficiency.
Work with sales personnel to ensure service standards are maintained, customer needs are recognized, and develop new business.
Management Activities – 20%
Collaborate with terminal/garage managers to ensure service standards are met, review exceptions, and resolve issues.
Confer and cooperate with other management personnel in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures and implement and enforce them.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Human Resources – 25%
Address human resource issues, including performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing grievances, and resolving complaints.
Support, counsel, train, and develop staff, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.
Support, enforce, and model all Health, Safety & Environmental rules, policies, and procedures.
Promote environmental awareness related to this position, such as recycling and energy conservation measures.
Non-essential Duties And Responsibilities
