Job Description
The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for leading a Regional or District Safety team to a Best in Class Standard, effectively managing safe work in accordance with local regulations and Chandos Safe work procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and manage direct reports in an assigned area or district of responsibility.
- Communicate and interact with provincial and federal agencies requiring deliverable reporting including Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Emergency Services.
- Develop and execute effective relevant procedures to further enhance the program.
- Implement change based on leading indicators and statistical metrics.
- Develop a sound company safety culture working with all levels and departments of Chandos.
- Apply expertise to assess risk and solve problems of varying construction tasks.
- Participate in project startup meetings and understand the scope of work on projects.
- Provide guidance and oversight on incident investigations and potentially severe near misses.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of commercial and industrial construction experience.
- National Construction Safety Officer Designation or HSE degree or Safety Diploma.
- 2+ years in a Safety Management role.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Possess a thorough understanding of 3rd Party pre-quals, including IsNet, Avetta, Contractor Check.
- Travel is required throughout the Ontario region.
