The Technical Writer position will be tasked with creating a comprehensive and accurate manual that provides detailed instructions for the repair and maintenance of the structural components of the Bell 525 aircraft. Additionally, the Technical Writer will be responsible for authoring similar technical manuals for all Bell aircraft models.
Summary of job description
- Researching and understanding the structural components and systems of the Bell 525 aircraft.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts to gather technical information and specifications.
- Writing clear, concise, and accurate procedural instructions for the repair and maintenance of all aircraft systems and structural components.
- Organizing and presenting information in a logical and user-friendly manner.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Reviewing and revising manuals based on feedback and updates.
Minimum required qualifications
- College degree in Avionic, Aircraft maintenance, or related technical field.
- Minimum of five (5) years in aviation maintenance experience with an understanding of aircraft systems, and their interfaces and operations.
- Proficient in the use of technical writing tools and software such as FrameMaker and Arbortext.
- Basic understanding of S1000D, XML, IETM, and content management systems is required.
- Strong ability to interpret technical documentation such as engineering drawings, specifications, and standards is required.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English is required for this position, as it involves communication in English with Bell teams outside of Quebec and/or its suppliers, partners, and clients outside of Quebec.
Any other combination of schooling and experience deemed equivalent may be considered.
