How you will create an impact

  • Manage new and existing Commercial Property claims including Marine and Energy claims.
  • Evaluate coverage, reserves, perform detailed claim investigations, and document the file appropriately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with customers, brokers, underwriting and all business partners.
  • Demonstrate customer service commitment by timely response to calls, emails, and letters.
  • Handle claims in accordance with established corporate best practices, claim handling guidelines, as well as strict adherence to all compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to make decisions and work independently within assigned authority and contribute effectively to the team.
  • Assign and confer with legal counsel on claims requiring litigation, adhere to litigation guidelines, and attend mediations as required.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Minimum 2 years of experience adjusting Property claims
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated focus and commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills; the ability to manage and prioritize workload and diary management
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to work independently on matters within granted authority
  • AMF Adjuster’s License (5A) if based in Quebec
  • Fluency in English / French is considered an asset
  • Must have the ability to travel as needed (5%)

Proficiency in both languages is required, namely due to the nature of our services and the need to communicate frequently with colleagues in other provinces or countries and to serve clients in both languages.
