The location in Port Alberni, BC is seeking talent to fill the position of Red Seal Carpenter. This job is a permanent full-time position.

This is a bargaining unit position; hourly rate of pay will be per the 2021-2025 UNIFOR Local 592 Labor Agreement ($48.66/hr).

Applicants should be efficient and safety-minded, with commercial construction experience and access to reliable transportation.

The ideal candidate will be capable of working with minimal oversight, yet also able to follow directions closely. Additionally, he or she should be familiar with construction industry standards and procedures to ensure project security.

Responsibilities:

1. Lift heavy loads up to 50lbs.
2. Work in hot noisy conditions.
3. Be on your feet for long periods of time.
4. Demonstrate skill in the safe operation of all power tools.
5. Adhere to company policy and standards.
6. Display good manners and attitude toward co-workers.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

1. Understanding construction principles and procedures.
2. Ability to work in a high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations.
3. Demonstrate competence in the areas of safety and project execution.
