Title : Community Health Practice Consultant – Primary Care Focus

Salary : $99,505 - $122,073 per year (pay range explained below)

Contract : Permanent

Location : Interior B.C. (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy)

Bargaining Unit : PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada)

About The Role

The Community Health Practice Consultant will play a pivotal role in leading the delivery of primary care services within the region. This position focuses on enhancing the quality and effectiveness of care by supporting the front-line workers in FNHA, Community, and Nation primary care settings. This position provides education, thought leadership and consultation on models of team-based primary health care and clinical practice services that includes orientation, training, in-service, clinical support, and clinical competency assessment to Registered Nurses (RNs) who provide primary care services to First Nations communities and individuals in British Columbia.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have / be :

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with a remote certified practice designation from a recognized university or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Masters Degree in a related field is considered an asset.

Experience

  • Ten (10) years of experience in primary care nursing providing clinical practice support and education to nurses or an acceptable combination of education, training and professional experience.
  • Experience in delivering community / public / home health nursing programs.
  • Experience delivering health or social services in a First Nations setting.

Registration & Certification

  • Eligibility or current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Basic Life Support Certification Level C.
