The Recreationist develops knowledge about participants in order to respond to their individual and group needs through a process of formal and informal assessment. The Recreationist plans, implements, facilitates, and evaluates individual and group programs suited to the individual needs of the participants. Provides input to the monthly calendar of events utilizing program planning and development. The Recreationist contributes to participant care plans with attention to goals and measurable outcomes. The position also works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team with the focus on the resident’s best interests. Emphasizes and encourages participation utilizing resident-centered approaches tailoring to their abilities, needs, interests, and values.
