Recreation Therapy & Volunteer Coordinator

Silverado Creek Seniors Community in Calgary is looking for a Recreation Therapist & Volunteer Coordinator to join our team and to support the residents, families and teams in the following activities:

• The Recreation Therapy and Volunteer Coordinator performs professional duties in planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, and supervising the recreation, therapy, leisure, companion and volunteer programs for the Care Home.
• Responsible for leading and supervising the relevant recreation/therapy aides as well as companions and volunteers in the provision of programs for residents to ensure the delivery of resident-centered programs based on residents’ individualized care plans and Park Place policies and procedures.
• Ensures holistic, comprehensive assessments of the residents are completed on admission and ongoing, including evaluation of the resident’s response to the appropriateness and effectiveness of recreation and leisure programs.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an approved Therapeutic Recreation Program
• Minimum three years recent related experience
• Current membership with BCTRA or ATRA the applicable provincial professional body
