The Canadian Distribution Centre (CAN DC) is responsible for the dispatch, receipt and management of goods for the Canadian market. The key functions of the CAN DC to which this role can be delegated include dispatch, receiving and general duties associated with inventory control.
The primary responsibility of the Team Lead is to assist the coordination and balance of manpower for all areas in the DC Receiving operations. In this flexible position, the Team Lead will rotate into multiple areas of the Receiving department to perform tasks including distribution of workload, unloading, palletizing, scanning, call down orders, respond to email correspondence with other departments including corporate and to consolidate orders as assigned by Receiving Supervisor. Tools and equipment that are used to perform tasks are pallet, scanner, computer, plastic wrap, pallet jack, and walk rider (certified).
This position may be engaged to supervise work in a number of key areas/departments within the CAN DC. As such the duties will vary slightly depending on the CAN DC area/department.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Assist with the Receiving Department in scheduling inbound drop-offs
- Run Receiving Schedule Reports
- Unload by hand and or pallets and verify unloading instructions
- Assist in Training of New Personnel
- Receiving Dock Functions
- Coordinating work and assisting in supervising staff in day-to-day operations of the CAN DC.
- Complete relevant documentation as required, maintain an accurate record keeping system, and prepare all relevant reports and data as required by Supervisor/management team.
- Develop and maintain effective and efficient work processes and procedures complying with OHS regulations.
- Maintain a level of standard within the KPI's and objectives set.
- Coach and develop team.
- Carry out Equipment Operator general responsibilities and duties as and when required.
- Other tasks deemed suitable based on knowledge and experience as required by the CAN DC Departmental Supervisor or General Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS- Experienced in a logistics environment
- Substantial Team Lead experience
- Familiarity with H&S and safe work practices
- Knowledge of IN - OUTBOUND logistics flow
- Sound IT skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience in using scanners and other logistics technologies
- Proven people management skills
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- OFA Level 2 certification or willing to get one - an asset
- Valid MHE Certification or willing to get one
