Rebar Fabricator

Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication's vision and values.
• This is an entry-level position. Incumbent may operate any one of the following machines:
  • Operate a shearing machine to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths.
  • Operate a bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specified shapes.
  • Operate an overhead crane to move, assemble, and select material to be fabricated or shipped.
  • Operate Fabmatic machine that cuts and bends reinforcing steel bars to specified shapes.
• Unload and load trailers and store material in storage bins.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
• Operate a power saw for cutting reinforcing steel bars to specified lengths.
• Maintain the shop or designated area in a clean and safe manner.
• Assist other employees in any of the above tasks.
• Inspect equipment and put safety at the forefront of all actions and decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have basic math skills to calculate bar measurements.
• Must have a form of reliable transportation. Location is not accessible via public transit and not within walking distance.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds; some heavy lifting may be necessary.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions year-round (cold, heat, wind, rain, snow, etc.).

Special Demands

• Work schedule: 6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday to Friday.
• Overtime hours may be required to accommodate operational demands (during peak seasons).
• Must be able to work any shift.
• Must be familiar with, and adhere to shop safety policies and procedures.
