JOB SUMMARY: Provide analytical, research, and consulting support for assigned projects. Assume accountability for specific assigned project tasks.
This role will support Cytel’s Real-World Evidence team to deliver projects involving analysis of real-world secondary data sources, large electronic health records databases and administrative claims (primarily US, but may be also assigned to other global projects). Prior experience building patient cohorts and evaluating patient profiles, treatment patterns and other healthcare events (clinical, costs and resource use) in large databases and using epidemiology and statistical methods is strongly desired.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work as directed within a project team to support project needs specified by a relevant project lead. Lead development of specific project elements with minimum supervision.
- Depending on project requirements, provide support in programming tasks, constructing analytic data, perform detailed data analysis, and create comprehensive final reports. This includes constructing necessary datasets through real-world data, executing analytical activities, and drafting sections of reports or presentations to clearly communicate findings.
- Provide regular progress reports and ensures deadlines are met.
- Routinely participate in client meetings.
- Keep abreast of emerging trends, tools and technologies.
- Ensure company and business unit policies, standards, and procedures are met.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics/Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Health Economics or other relevant scientific field. PhD or MD preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in health research or consulting environment.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of relevant analytical packages is required (R, SAS, SQL).
- Previous experience with real-world secondary data sources (e.g., Marketscan, Optum, registries etc) preferred.
- Experience with advanced statistical methods such as survival and regression.
- Comfortable presenting and interfacing with consultants and clients.
- Strong writing, oral communication and presentation skills, excellent use of the English language.

- Excellent organization and multi-tasking capabilities, strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to identify and understand relevant scientific literature and apply knowledge gained from these sources as needed.
