AECOM is currently seeking a highly motivated RAM and Safety Manager to join our Transit & Rail Systems Canada team.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Lead and review System Safety Assurance analyses and Safety assurance management plan, as per CENELEC standards mainly EN50126, EN50128, EN50129, EN50159.
  • Lead and/or produce documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead and/or produce System Safety Program Plan.
  • Lead and/or produce Safety and RAMS requirements.
  • Lead decomposition and allocation of RAMS requirements downstream of the V-cycle phases.
  • Produce RAMS Validation and Verification plans and reports.
  • Represent RAMS engineering in project core team.
  • Oversee RAMS topics and act to ensure product compliance with its RAMS requirements by working in strict cooperation with system and SW engineers, suppliers, V&V engineer and external entities (customer, assessors, …).
  • Set up RAM demonstration plan and FRACAS procedures in cooperation with project management and field team.
  • Lead Human factor assessment and Human reliability analysis.
  • Lead the development and review of systems HW/SW analyses such as PHA, SHA, SSHA, IHA, O&SHA using safety analysis techniques including FMECAs, FTA, ETA, RBD, CCF, etc.
  • Lead the development of System Safety case.
  • Apply CENELEC guiding for RAMS quantitative target decomposition and allocation.
  • Develop processes and procedures to set up and maintain Hazard Log Management tools.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to systems assurance engineers to execute Systems Assurance Programs for Clients.
  • Supervises group of engineers and/or technicians, coordinating activities of the unit.
  • Willing to learn, team worker, problem solving oriented, rigorous, and structured mind-set, communication, flexibility, proactive.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and good communication capability to interact with internal and external technical team including external clients, vendors, and other team members.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelors Engineering Degree (Electrical Eng, Computer Eng. or Mechanical Eng.).
  • 8 years of relevant experience Rail Safety & RAM.
  • Possess technical knowledge of RAMS theory and techniques (RBD, FMEA, FTA, etc.), Risk analysis methods HAZID, HAZOP, PHA, FHA, SHA, SSHA, IHA.
  • Driving License.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Possess experience leading and managing technical teams and understanding project objectives to meet project goals.
  • Experience executing assurance processes to obtain safety certification for railway projects.
  • Understanding of railway systems, station design, and construction processes.
  • Experience of the whole design lifecycle as well as experience with transit or rail assurance standards EN50126 part 1& 2, EN 50128 and EN 50129, EN 50159, as well AREMA, IEEE, MIL STD-882.
  • Knowledge of hazard analysis management in rail or transit project environment.
  • Knowledge of DOORS or other requirements management tools and their application in a rail or transit infrastructure project environment.
  • You possess the basic understanding of Human factor Assessment (HFA) and Human Reliability Analysis (HRA).
  • Professional Engineering Certificate in Ontario.
  • Good understanding of complex systems architectures, functional design, schematics, and drawings.
