Department Overview

Motorola Solution’s Video Division is defining the future of the security industry through innovative end-to-end solutions. We’re changing the landscape of the surveillance industry through advanced award-winning AI based surveillance systems. Artificial Intelligence is transforming the world and our team is advancing the field as it applies to the surveillance industry. We are proud to be industry leaders in video analytics with products like Appearance Search and Unusual Motion Detection along with our recently launched Avigilon Blue cloud service platform. Job Description

This position is based in Vancouver, BC and the candidate must reside in the Greater Vancouver Area as you will be required to go into the office on a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Ensure that Motorola produces the highest quality, easiest to use products in the surveillance industry.
  2. Continually improve the quality of Motorola's video software and hardware products through the creation, execution, and maintenance of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  3. Recruit, manage, train and evaluate the performance of the Appliance Test Team personnel.
  4. Mentor Appliance Test Team personnel to grow their career and develop new skills.
  5. Drive productivity and efficiency via automation and metrics.
  6. Responsible for the timely investigation, triage, and replication of reported issues.
  7. Interact regularly with support, development, and product management teams to solve challenging problems.
  8. Work with external companies to deliver additional capabilities and capacity to the Appliance Test Team.
  9. Develop processes and metrics to ensure Appliance Test Team is operating efficiently and productively.

Qualifications:

  1. A Bachelors or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science.
  2. 5+ years of experience in a Technical Leadership position that combines technical mastery and people management.
  3. 3+ years of work experience in System Test, Functional Test and Test Automation.
  4. A team player with creative and innovative approaches to solving challenges.
  5. Ability to thrive under pressure and function effectively in a fast-paced environment, providing strong leadership skills and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  6. Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  7. Superior written and verbal communications skills; comfortable at public speaking and presenting to a large audience.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience:

  1. Experience with surveillance and security products.
  2. Proven ability to lead and manage testing and quality assurance organizations.
  3. Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating and executing test projects while working within the SDLC.
  4. Working experience with Test Automation tools and frameworks.
  5. In-depth understanding of cameras, networking, VM and Cloud technologies.

Target Base Salary Range: $73,500 - $150,700 CAD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

  1. 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership or Management position.
