Our Exciting Opportunity
The R&D Incentives Analyst is responsible for ensuring that Ericsson takes full advantage of all governmental R&D incentive programs, starting with, but not limited to, the tax credits for Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) (in Canada and the US).
You will:
- Assess Ericsson’s R&D projects to establish eligibility from a technology perspective.
- Contribute to the elaboration and filing of claims: SR&ED (Canada), eBusiness (QC) and R&D tax credit (US), Grants (Canada).
- Drive Change and Improvement – identify and implement process improvements.
- Keep up to date with emerging technologies.
- Keep up to date with local and national business, political and economic issues.
- Support various grants initiatives within Ericsson Canada.
- Participate in the establishment of the overall claim and defense strategy, using a variety of approaches (technological, fiscal, legal, political, accounting…).
- Participate in the determination of the acceptable risk level for Ericsson, beyond which not to claim, ensuring that laws and regulations are respected, and Ericsson’s reputation is protected.
- Analyze alternate funding opportunities for Ericsson: government subsidies for capital expenditure, training to R&D personnel, tax credits for university contracts and chairs, etc.
- Develop a successful and open relationship with CRA/ARQ and IQ both at the local and national level.
- Participate in communication strategies within Ericsson to ensure the best usage of ITC in attracting new R&D mandates to Ericsson Canada or protecting existing ones.
You will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, Computer Sciences or equivalent.
- Financial skills an asset.
- Direct Experience in Research and Development a strong asset.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills combined with intellectual curiosity and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Broad knowledge of current mobile network technologies.
- Prior experience with the SR&ED tax credit program an asset.
- Language skills: Fluent in both French & English.
Typical Interfaces
Internal: Leadership teams, Development Units (PDU’s), Customer Unit, Finance, Tax, Legal, Sourcing/Supply, Human Resource/People/Payroll, Treasury.
External: Government Agencies & Auditors, Technical experts from CRA / IRS, Consultants, Industry Associations.
Tools & Resources:
SAP, Business Warehouse (P50), Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and other Analytics tools for data preparation, analysis, and visualization, Corporate Tax Software (TaxPrep).
