rhi is currently searching for a Quantity Surveyor to support our team in Calgary, AB. rhi (whose parent company is Wood LLC) is growing internationally within our Project Services Consultancy division as our clients expand into Green and Blue Hydrogen, CCS, etc. The Technology space, Data Centers, etc. has also seen large growth for rhi. With such growth, we need multiple seasoned Quantity Surveyors to join our Project Services and client-facing consultancy.
The ideal candidate will have Pre and Post contract experience. Large Capital Project experience and Decommissioning is a strong asset.
This role requires a client-facing professional who always keeps the best interests of the client in mind while growing rhi's business. MRICS or RICS is a plus.
- Prepare invitations to tender and schedules of prices for major construction contracts.
- Utilize RHiComs software system.
- Develop schedules of rates and associated preambles for unit rate contracts.
- Develop bills of quantities for bid evaluations.
- Responsible for cost estimating, overall cost forecasts, and post-contract administration including detailed measurement of IFC/AFC drawings and subsequent agreement with fabrication contractor.
- Identify needs and reach an agreement on star rates.
- Confirm the validity of variation order requests and claims from contractors.
- Responsible for the preparation and review of change management policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field and 5 years of experience in job offered or related occupation.
- This position requires 5 years experience in the following:
- Performing quantity surveying duties within the international oil & gas industry;
- Working on, administering, and managing various types of contracts, including lump sum, reimbursable, unit rates, time & material, and contracts with incentive bonus schemes utilizing a specialty unit rate;
- Contracting, estimating, and bill of quantities and schedule of rates software system.
Travel: Domestic and international travel required up to 10%.
Full-time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
