Overview:
The Quality Manager will manage and improve food safety and quality programs, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Lead the execution of customer, regulatory, and third-party audits, while addressing incidents and implementing effective corrective actions. Oversee QA department operations, including training and risk analysis for continuous enhancement.

Responsibilities:
- Partner with Sr. Manufacturing Quality Manager, Bakery Manager and internal teams to lead, coach, direct and develop personnel in the areas of Quality & Food Safety, building a strong food safety program.
- Model behavior to meet or exceed Wonderbrands standards for safety, food safety, and environmental practices.
- Treat employees and co-workers with respect and dignity.
- Ensure pre-requisite programs as outlined by Wonderbrands policies/procedures are implemented effectively for producing a safe product; Develop and manage QA and FS programs including HACCP, GMP.
- Serve as site HACCP/Food Safety coordinator to lead Quality and Food Safety continuous improvement.
- Monitor plant activity to ensure compliance to GMP’s and implementation of QA/FS policies. Maintain QC/QA documents (policies, procedures and records) as required.
- Lead and facilitate the successful execution of customer, regulatory, certification and third-party audits.
- Identify areas of improvement based on self-inspection and audit findings; ensure critical gaps are closed immediately and follow up to ensure other gaps are addressed/closed in a timely manner based on risk; Adapt procedural changes and engage cross functional partners to ensure effective corrective actions are put in place and prevent reoccurrence.
- Lead investigation and analysis of quality and food safety incidents/complaints. Ensure root cause and effective corrective actions are put in place to address immediate risks and prevent reoccurrence.
- Conduct risk analyses on quality and food safety deviations and escalate as required.
- Develop training materials and train cross functional teams and employees to support and reinforce quality standards, GMP’s/HACCP; ensuring 100% completion of food safety training.
- Support R&D initiatives, ensure proper quality and food safety documentation is in place and standards are met for new product launches.
- Ensure food safety and quality risks are properly identified and mitigated during construction and maintenance activities.
- Organize, prioritize and manage work responsibilities for direct reports in the quality department. Set expectations and hold quality team accountable for meeting expectations.
- Monitor the pest control program to ensure compliance with Wonderbrands policies and standards and work closely with 3rd party pest control service provider.
- Lead the Environmental Program and support sanitation to ensure compliance to Wonderbrands Policies.
- Any other projects, as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in science with a preference for a microbiology or Food Science background.
- Must have worked in the food industry (preferably bakery production) for a minimum of five years.
- A minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience.
- Great team building skills; Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- PC application skills (i.e. Excel, Word, Visio, etc.).
- Strong problem solving, organization and analytical skills.
- Ability to define performance measures related to the quality, food safety and sanitation.
- Must be able to work independently and set priorities.
