GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Duties include inspection of aerospace precision machining details, assemblies and special processes.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Perform inspection of precision parts and assemblies to customer drawings and specifications (using tools such as calipers, height gauges, plug gauges, CMM’s, micrometers).
- Generate First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102.
- Generate Customer Required documents such as C of C’s for product.
- Data collection and generation of non-conformance reports.
- Document/discuss unacceptable or inferior quality materials with internal and external parties and take corrective action.
- Internal auditing of control plans and process conformance.
- Participate in Kaizen events & 5S initiatives.
- All other duties as assigned.
DIMENSIONS:
- Post-secondary education in a related field. Certificate in Quality Assurance/Quality Technician preferred.
- 2+ years inspection experience within the aerospace industry.
- Ability to read blueprint drawings and specifications.
- Adequate working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- ISO 9001 or AS9100 experience.
- Six Sigma/5S Lean Manufacturing training (MPC, SPC, FMEA, Process Mapping).
- Well versed in Geometric Tolerances.
- CMM experience an asset.
- Knowledge in Model Base Definition / Digital Product Definition an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical:
- Work is normally performed in a manufacturing environment.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
- Use of office equipment including computers, telephones, calculators, copiers and fax machines.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety shoes, safety goggles, ear plugs, fitted dust mask, etc. as required.
Mental:
- Must be able to take on new assignments as required.
- Must work under deadlines and related stresses in a timely manner.
- Must be able to handle various personnel and other situations as they arise in a professional manner.
