Monitor and improve production workmanship standards, working with the operations team to ensure suitable technician training and monitoring.
Ensure specific workmanship and inspection requirements are implemented to defined acceptance criteria, including IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620.
Inspection, including first article inspection reports.
Analyze and categorize production rework, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Customer complaint and non-conformance investigation, communication and corrective action implementation. Customer satisfaction measurement and reporting.
Hosting customer inspection and audit visits.
Product recall and field upgrade management.
Involvement with the product design process, including active participation in design reviews.
Ensuring robust validation and verification activities at appropriate stages in the design process.
Working with the New Product Introduction team to ensure new products are suitably designed for efficient manufacture.
Work with the purchasing team to select, assess and approve suitable suppliers.
Liaise with suppliers to identify root causes of non-conforming materials and implement corrective actions.
Monitor, measure and report supplier performance.
Document and maintain the process maps, work instructions and forms needed for efficient operation of the quality function.
Monitor the suitability and effectiveness of the organization’s BMS, via non-conformance management and internal auditing.
Liaison with certification bodies when they carry out 3rd party audits of the organization’s BMS to ISO9001 and or ISO14001.
Undertake self-development to continuously improve knowledge and skill set for the role.
Adhere to the BMS (Business Management System) framework of Processes, Work Instructions, policies and all other associated documents.

Requirements:
3+ years’ experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing organization.
Inspection of electrical, electronic and mechanical parts, assemblies and products against engineering drawings and specifications.
Liaising with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders on quality related issues, including complaints, rejects, customer audits, inspection and change control.
Root cause analysis and effective implementation of corrective actions.
Skilled use of all standard quality tools, e.g. 8D, 5 whys, fishbone, etc.
Process improvement, including value stream mapping.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
Use of inspection and measuring equipment, e.g. micrometer and vernier gauge.
Data analysis and presentation.
High School Diploma or equivalent international qualifications in mathematics and English or College certificate, diploma or degree in a relevant engineering subject.
Friendly but assertive approach, and the ability to influence and persuade others is important.
Process driven with logical, planned and structured methodology.
Excellent attention to detail.
Self-motivated and able to multi-task handling multiple priorities.
