Trouw Nutrition is hiring for the Quality Coordinator Role, which is a 12-month contract to support the QA Manager in implementing and maintaining Trouw Nutrition’s quality assurance and HACCP programs across the St. Mary's facilities. This role ensures compliance with food safety standards and regulations while collaborating with cross-functional teams, senior quality members, and plant staff. The incumbent will uphold Trouw Nutrition’s Corporate Values of Trust, Inclusivity, Curiosity, Integrity, and Passion in all responsibilities. This is a full-time, on-site position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Support QA Manager: Assist the Regional QA Manager with the implementation and maintenance of quality assurance and HACCP programs.
  • HACCP Program Maintenance: Maintain existing HACCP program and FSSC through comprehensive document management processes and related checks.
  • Nutrace Programs: Implement and maintain Nutrace-related programs and activities as directed by the Regional QA Manager and/or the North American Business Unit QA Manager.
  • Incident Management: Lead regional incident and complaint management processes (CRM), including leading the identification and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Investigate process and manufacturing errors to complete Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) reports.
  • Premise Inspections: Conduct monthly premise inspections and track resulting non-conformances.
  • Equipment Calibration: Oversee the calibration and validation of production equipment as defined in the HACCP program.
  • Documentation and Training: Document regional procedures in line with programs and execute training requirements and audits with the operations team.
  • Audit Assistance: Assist in internal and external audits; coordinate audit opening and closing meetings; collect and organize documentation from other departments; and work for closures of non-conformities.
  • Cross-Department Communication: Communicate with all departments to investigate and resolve issues, supporting continuous improvement standards.
  • Product Testing: Review results from ingredient and finished product testing and assist with sampling and testing of incoming ingredients and finished products.
  • Risk Assessments: Complete risk assessments to analyze and evaluate risks associated with hazards.

Skills and Expertise

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in an area of related study.
  • 2+ years’ experience in the agriculture industry; feed industry; food industry; or manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with the tools, concepts, and methodologies of quality management.
  • Current HACCP program certificate training preferred.
  • Current FSSC ISO 22000 program certificate training preferred.

  • Proactive, organized, strong facilitation, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Computer proficiency with entire MS Office suite – proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Creative problem-solving ability, and forward-thinking abilities.
  • Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs, climb ladders, and lift 55 lbs.
