Job Summary:

We are seeking a Quality Control Packaging Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our client's Packaging Quality Control Lab. This role ensures all packaging testing meets customer specifications and regulatory standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and compliance efforts. If you have experience in food safety, packaging analysis, and a strong understanding of quality control, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage Quality Control Packaging Analysts to ensure timely and accurate packaging testing.
  • Review packaging records daily for accuracy and compliance before product release.
  • Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to identify root causes, corrective actions, and preventative measures for packaging-related deviations.
  • Provide packaging data to support the Supplier Quality Program.
  • Assist in establishing verification programs to ensure incoming packaging materials meet standards before use.
  • Perform administrative duties, including employee scheduling, timesheet review, and record management.
  • Represent the company during government and customer audits.
  • Investigate and respond to consumer and customer concerns related to packaging.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement robust quality systems.
  • Maintain and update quality control systems, including documentation, internal audits, and reassessments.
  • Enforce safe work practices for all quality staff.

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Science, Engineering, or equivalent food manufacturing work experience.
  • Technical training related to closures and packaging is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in food safety and quality, with knowledge of food packaging analysis or canning considered an asset.
  • Experience in maintenance, engineering, and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
