Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the quality of metal products manufactured by the company. He/she ensures that production processes comply with quality standards and that finished products meet specified requirements. This role includes managing quality control teams, implementing control procedures, and collaborating with other departments to resolve quality issues.
Responsibilities
Supervision of Quality Control Operations
Supervise quality inspectors and technicians in carrying out tests and inspections on products.
Plan and organize quality control activities to ensure product conformity throughout the production process.
Implementation of Quality Procedures
Develop, implement, and improve quality control procedures to ensure that industry standards and customer requirements are met.
Monitor the performance of quality processes and suggest improvements to increase efficiency and reduce defect rates.
Nonconformance Management
Identify and analyze nonconformities, propose corrective and preventive solutions, and monitor their implementation.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to solve quality problems and optimize processes.
Training and Staff Development
Train employees on quality standards, control methods and procedures to ensure compliance.
Develop the quality control skills of team members.
Reporting and Documentation
Prepare quality reports, including inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions.
Maintain current documentation of quality control processes.
Technology and Regulatory Monitoring
Keep abreast of technological developments and new regulations in the metals field and adapt company practices accordingly.
Skills And Qualifications
Degree in mechanical engineering, metallurgy, or related field.
Significant experience in quality control, ideally in metal or industrial manufacturing.
Team management and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of international quality standards (ISO, etc.).
