Our mission of "Empowering YOU to be YOU, one outfit at a time" is brought to life through the GARAGE and DYNAMITE banners and represents the consumer-centric core of GDI's long-standing success as a leading retailer in North America.

Today, GDI operates nearly 300 stores across Canada and the United States, as well as shoppable brand experiences at Garageclothing.com and Dynamiteclothing.com.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Quality Control, the Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that bulk production meets Groupe Dynamite quality standards. This role focuses on inspecting the fabric, measurements, and construction of bulk production to ensure compliance with established quality guidelines and approved samples. The technician works closely with the quality control team to identify defects and provide feedback to improve product quality.

You will be involved in our ongoing transformation from a traditional brick & mortar retailer, to an omni-channel leader and tech-first fashion disruptor.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual and physical inspection of finished garments to ensure that they meet established quality standards and are within tolerance to approved shipment samples;
  • Measure garments and ensure that the points of measure are within tolerance to the final specifications, across the required size range;
  • Promptly identify and document quality issues, including any defects or deviations;
  • Generate detailed quality reports on findings to the QA Manager;
  • Work closely with the outbound team of the Distribution Centre to ensure a smooth flow of work;
  • Assist in maintaining quality control guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • College diploma or certification; focus on Design, Patternmaking or Production a plus;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and/or Google (Docs & Sheets) and basic data entry;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify defects or non-conformities;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and spoken (French and English);
  • At ease with measurements/grading, sewing and metric values (preferred);
  • Understanding of garment construction (preferred);
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

At GDI, you will be part of a growing organization that understands the importance of investing in people and offers you:

  • A comprehensive compensation package that includes performance-driven bonuses;
  • A group retirement savings program with employer matching;
  • Flexible group insurance with personalized coverage that meets your needs;
  • An employee discount at Garage and Dynamite;
  • Exclusive private sample sales;
  • A flexible vacation policy;
  • And more!

GDI has been repeatedly voted one of Montréal’s Top Employers and one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People.
