Quality Assurance Tester

Burnaby, BC

Apply your knowledge of testing methodologies within an Agile environment to support Information Management and Information Technologies Services (IMITS) and develop patient portal initiatives. Under the QA/Test Lead work with the project team to review technical requirements, define test plans, test cases, plan execution, execute tests, defect filing, and test report development.

What you'll do
  • Work closely with the business SME's and the vendor to create and modify test cases and test scripts.
  • Plan and execute software functional testing and systems integration testing, recording results and communicating with the QA Lead and/or Project Manager on testing progress.
  • Participate in defect triaging.
  • Prepare regression test suite and UAT scenarios.
  • Participate in backend and API testing and related testing tools.
  • Work with team members to create test scripts, execute testing and log defects. Support and maintain Test Tools including TestRail.
  • Provide written reports on work completed and test reports. Escalate roadblocks proactively to leadership.
  • Communicate with developers, business analysts, less experienced testers and project managers.
  • Troubleshoot issues on Windows OS, web and client/server applications.

What you bring
  • Graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science along with a strong knowledge of testing methodologies, processes, standards, techniques and practices.
  • Work experience with software quality control concepts, system integration testing, and practices.
  • Work experience with test case management, requirements and defect tracking tools.
  • Troubleshooting skills on Windows OS, web and client/server applications.
  • Previous Salesforce, Health Connect, and Primary Care testing experience would be beneficial.
  • Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.) is a strong asset.

Job Type: Casual full-time hours (37.5 hours per week)

Wage: $30.00 - $41.00/hour. As a casual employee, total earnings includes an additional 13% in lieu of benefits and paid time off.

Location: Burnaby, V5C6E3

Hours of Work: Monday - Friday (37.5 hours per week)
