Japanese food manufacturer is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join! Management experience in the vegetable/produce manufacturing environment is REQUIRED.
Position: Quality Assurance Manager Industry: Japanese Vegetable Manufacturing Location: Ontario, CA/ Inland Empire area Pay: $85K-120K (DOE) plus benefits Status: Full time/Direct hire Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-3:00pm
Job Duties:
Responsible for communicating all food safety & quality issues that are encountered throughout daily operations to appropriate parties for corrective action to be taken.
Responsible for managing an in-house microbiological testing laboratory and lab staff.
Managing QA document and record keeping.
Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and properly stored.
Performs and monitors quality control testing/sampling of raw materials, packaging materials, and/or finished products.
Tests packaging to ensure maximum shelf life.
Implementing food safety program in the plant and contribute to the continuous improvement.
Serves as primary contact for all quality and food safety audits and inspections.
Monitors quality audit program for the production facility (to ensure company and regulatory compliance standards are met for product quality, sanitation and process controls).
Serves as primary contact for customer complaints.
Manages and monitors all quality training including: HACCP, GMP and food/work safety standards.
Routinely participate in mock recall throughout the year.
Work with management team to identify and resolve problems. Recommend measures to improve quality of product and quality systems.
Lead the supplier approval program.
Manage quality and food safety incidents by investigating all production issues (foreign material, product specifications, label issues, weight issues, on hold products, destruction of product).
Initiate appropriate corrective action when non-conformances occur.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Microbiology or other related fields or 6-9 years combined experience with food or ingredients and manufacturing experience.
Working knowledge of food manufacturing and QA procedures and practices.
Knowledge of Food Processing equipment, preferably in a RTE facility.
HACCP Certified.
Preventive Control Qualified Individual (FSMA) Certified.
Knowledge of computer programs (i.e. MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Spanish skill.
Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of senior managers.
Self-driven, results-oriented, able to work independently and under deadlines.
Familiarity and understanding of Critical Control Points (CCP’s), SOP’s and Quality Standards.
Understand and follow all GMP’s.
