Responsible for the bakery’s compliance with federal, state, local, and customer requirements. As PCQI, HACCP Coordinator, and lead SQF Practitioner, the Quality Assurance Manager is directly responsible for the facilities’ food safety and food quality compliance.
- Conduct inspections, sensory product evaluations, quality audits, and pick samples as required.
- Participate in all 3rd party audits including AIB, Regulatory, Customer, etc.
- Develop, implement, monitor, verify and validate all HACCP and Preventive Controls for Human Foods activities.
- Develop, maintain, verify, and validate a Stock Recovery Plan including lot tracking, mock recoveries, and traceability exercises as required.
- Develop, implement, and maintain SQF system and hold SQF practitioner certification.
- Train personnel on the requirements of HACCP and all other pertinent programs.
- Monitor production, raw materials and finished product for sanitation or quality deviations and make adjustments as necessary.
- Develop, implement, monitor, update, and train, as needed, a Raw Ingredient Testing Program including water testing and verification of Certificates of Analysis.
- Order product holds or recalls if contaminants are discovered.
- Analyze, monitor, and report deviations regarding production process controls.
- Analyze, monitor, and report deviations regarding finished product controls.
- Develop, implement, monitor, update, and train, as needed, an Equipment Calibration Program.
- Develop, implement, monitor, update, and train, as needed, an Environmental Testing Program.
- Responsible for designing and delivering employee training in all areas of Quality Assurance where it is required.
- Perform Analytical tests on product or ingredients as needed.
- Participate in research/development projects as requested.
- Maintain organized, legible, and accurate documentation for all QA programs.
- Stay current with food related consumer trends, Allergens and Sensitive Ingredients, GMOs, and other related topics through Continuing Education such as workshops, seminars, and publications.
- Other duties may be assigned as business necessitates.
- Abide by and ensure plant personnel are following all cGMPs, Personal Safety, Food Safety, and SQF Rules. Adheres to the Baldinger Code of Conduct.

Education and Experience/Knowledge Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- PCQI / HACCP Certification.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in the food industry.
- Ability to do complex math and computational skills.
- Possess college-level verbal, analytical and written skills.
Desirable Skills/Attributes (preferred but not required):
- Graduate degree in food science, chemistry, biology, or related field.
Physical Demands:
- Able to stand, sit, stoop, bend, and crouch on a regular basis.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
