The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for inspecting products produced by our Printed Packaging division, identifying product defects in process and at final inspection and releasing products accordingly for shipment to the client.
More About Your Responsibilities
- Quality Inspections: Sample and inspect all orders according to the Quality System, performing first and last press sheet inspections using a vision system, and conducting final inspections as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Product Release and Non-Conformance Management: Release acceptable products for shipping and identify/tag non-conforming materials, isolating them in the hold/quarantine area until released by an authorized signer.
- Continuous Improvement Reporting: Log Continuous Improvement Reports (non-conformance reports) and retain quality assurance inspection report samples of all rejected products, following the outlined SOPs.
- Communication and Documentation: Notify the Quality Management or designate of critical defects and send hold/quarantine area reports according to SOPs. Complete all required quality assurance paperwork on production orders and generate customer-required documents such as Certificates of Compliance (CofCs) for products, adhering to SOPs and customer specifications.
- Calibration and Compliance: Perform equipment calibration, maintain records in the calibration database, and ensure compliance with the Jones Quality Management System and all applicable Health & Safety and Environmental Management System policies and procedures.
- Safety Reporting and Continuous Improvement: Report unsafe conditions or potential environmental impacts to the Manager, Quality Assurance, and participate in continuous improvement efforts of the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management System.
- Additional Duties: Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team goals.
What You’ll Bring- Minimum high school diploma.
- 2+ years of experience as a Quality Inspector or equivalent quality-related role.
- Availability to rotate within our 3 shifts (days: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, afternoons: 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm, and nights: 11:00 pm – 7:00 am).
- Post-secondary diploma in quality assurance or a related field is an asset.
