Role: Quality Assurance Editor/ Medical Report Editor
Status: Full-Time Permanent (in-person)
Location: 5945 Airport Road, Suite 335, Mississauga ON
For over 30 years AssessMed has been completing independent, unbiased, evidence-based medico-legal evaluations and file reviews to several markets including but not limited to auto insurance, defense and plaintiff tort medicals, Accident Benefits, Catastrophic claims, Life and Health Disability referrals as well as cases from HR representatives throughout corporate Canada. AssessMed is a true national provider with strategically located regional offices in BC, Alberta, Ontario (4), Quebec and the Maritime Provinces (2).
The main responsibilities of this position include:
- Proof-read reports for continuity, consistency, accuracy, spelling, grammar and compliance with current regulations.
- Correct errors identified within the reports and tracking systems to ensure accurate working records for the staff.
- Identify discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies in medical assessments and provide timely feedback to assessors for correction.
- Collaborate with assessors to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training and support to assessors on quality assurance procedures and documentation requirements.
- Ensure reports are sent to the client on time.
- Ensure timely follow-up and tracking of all assigned reports.
- Follow QA protocols for releasing and saving reports.
- Offer exceptional customer service when responding to queries and/or explaining report discrepancies.
- Identify issues that will impact service standards and rectify or escalate those issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years' experience in the medical or insurance industry.
- Recognized Medical Terminology course.
- Action-oriented, highly organized, results-oriented, independent problem solver with demonstrated clinical, medical legal assessment and/or adjudication experience.
- Detailed familiarity with the current and prior auto insurance legislation, arbitration, and associated legal decisions.
- Solid command of the English language and demonstrated excellent communication skills both verbally and in written format.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Adobe.
- Flexible and team-oriented.
- CAT Certification or strong working knowledge of the AMA Guides 4th and 6th editions is an asset.
