The Quality Assurance Coordinator :
Contributes daily to the circular economy movement. His/her role will be to ensure compliance of raw materials and finished products with HACCP quality and food safety requirements, as well as inventory management and receiving/shipping.
In this way, she contributes to achieving the company's mission.
Your main duties and responsibilities:
- Verify compliance of files (Quality + Food Safety (CCPS & prerequisite programs such as: recipes, allergen sequences, washes) and on-site execution of surveillances.
- Rotate pre-operational inspections.
- Keep regulations up to date, re-evaluate and validate the HACCP system.
- Train all stakeholders on changes.
- Analyze gaps and trends in the HACCP program and conduct CFIA, customer and GFSI audits.
- Enforce Quality work practices (HACCP/BPF).
- Make pre-operational inspection rounds every morning before productions.
- Check the cleanliness and integrity of the premises and equipment before the production team arrives.
- Receive raw materials (identify and control inputs).
- Inventory control.
- Ensure rotation of ingredients (FIFO).
- Approve and prepare ingredients and line starts before production begins.
- Carry out regular line rounds during the day at each workstation.
- Ensure that checks/inspection points are completed by production team members.
- Check critical points (CCP monitoring verification).
- Sample and check raw materials, packaging and labels on receipt.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Comply with the plant's Occupational Health and Safety rules.
- Any other related task(s).
In collaboration with the management team and R&D, make the:
- Update HACCP system & reassess HACCP system.
- Determine the causes of non-compliant situations and take action.
- Evaluate if there is a recurrence and what measures need to be taken.
- Ensure compliance with the company's written program (procedures).
- Update, reassess and validate the HACCP system.
- Adapt the written HACCP program in line with updates or changes to laws and regulations.
- Carry out daily inspections and/or audits (several times a day).
- Promote and enforce quality standards.
- Compile and interpret microbiological analysis results.
- Investigate, find causes and propose corrective measures in case of deviation.
- Respond to customer requests and complaints regarding quality and food safety.
- Enforce quality requirements for future exports.
- Perform all other related duties.

Skills and qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Technology, Food Science or Food Engineering, or any other relevant field related to food processing, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years' relevant experience in a similar position, particularly in a federally inspected establishment.
- Mastery of quality system standards.
- Advantage: Knowledge of GFSI (SQF) standards.
- Problem-solving skills, thoroughness and organizational skills.
- French/English bilingualism, both written and spoken.
