Quality Assurance Analyst (contract)

Reporting to the Manager, Business Applications, the Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for crafting and implementing appropriate scripts and plans for an application testing strategy and approach. This outstanding individual will perform initiatives related to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process and product rollout into production! This individual will further provide validation and acceptance services to test, analyze, and certify Teck Enterprise Business Applications and Solutions.

Other primary responsibilities include developing and driving test plans and continuously improving testing methodologies and processes. In addition, the System QA Specialist also manages lab environments, tools, and automation efforts needed to support all testing requirements.

Responsibilities

1. Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
2. Build strong and trusting business relationships working closely with business unit leaders and representatives.
3. Manage standard business analysis responsibilities as they relate to any solution delivery including:
1. Definition and documentation of requirements, workshop facilitations, and reviews.
2. Accurate use of Themes, Epics, Features and User Stories.
3. Business process mapping, improvement and data requirements definition.
4. Participation in Agile Framework events.
5. Collaborate with PMs or other leaders.
6. Participate in building the business engagement framework and adopting business analysis standard practices.
7. Collaborate towards developing performance indicators and measures to improve application management and solution delivery.
8. Bring transparency to business and IT organizations regarding development and growing trust.
9. Optimally identify trade-offs between short—and long-term benefits to drive a shared vision among the team and key partners.
10. Engage partners by raising impediments, validating risk, and communicating status and performance metrics.
11. Perform and achieve key targets on time, on quality, and within scope.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of IT Testing experience and hands on knowledge of Testing & QA practices is required.
• Proven hands on experience with designing and maintaining Automation Frameworks, along with good understanding of automation tools and standard processes.
• Solid understanding of SQL.
• Experience with agile software testing.
• Demonstrated understanding of DevOps concepts and how it intersects with QA.
• A good communicator with diplomacy skills and the ability to persuade and influence.
