Quality Assurance Analyst

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst for a 6-month contract position in Calgary, Alberta with possible extensions. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Hybrid schedule - this is NOT a remote role.

Role Description

The Quality Assurance Analyst will drive the overall health of internal and external applications, in collaboration with Software QA. In this role, you will identify defects throughout the stages of deployed testing and collaborate with the development and engineering teams to ensure design and software standards are achieved. Additionally, you will demonstrate your ability to describe problems and risks identified, later ensuring that the appropriate resolution steps are taken.

Responsibilities

1. Design and execute test plans that outline the testing approach, scope, resources and schedule for specific projects, including manual and automated testing methods.
2. Document and report findings, providing details on the problem, how it was identified and steps needed to fix it.
3. Verify that software complies with industry standards, regulations and best practices.
4. Analyze testing outcomes and recommend improvements, aiming to prevent defects and enhance the quality in future products.
5. Provide precise and timely reporting of test KPIs - automation progress, risks and issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent field.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a Quality Assurance software development role.
3. Strong ability to identify, record, document and track bugs.
4. Experience in practical application of QA metrics and methodologies.
5. Experience with scripting and testing automation would be an asset.
6. Knowledge and experience with C#/.NET would be an asset.
7. Knowledge and experience with JavaScript and Razor would be an asset.
8. Familiarity with Azure DevOps, git, Jira, Bitbucket, Sonar Qube and other relevant tools would be an asset.
