QA Technician/Food Processing Quality Assurance
Job description
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Quality Management System Development
- Assist Quality Manager in third-party audits and internal audits.
- Assist Quality Manager in writing SOPs, SSOPs, and quality-related policies and procedures.
- Implement and maintain quality-related policies and procedures.
- Perform quality-related training to new employees and contractors.
- Product Management
- Participate in new product and process design and development, validate and improve existing product/process.
- Assist Quality Manager with approval and maintenance of raw material, work in process, and finished product specifications and process documents.
- Supplier Management
- Control and update the approved supplier database.
- Work with Production Innovation and Procurement to identify available and cost-effective product materials.
- Managing Customer Complaints
- Assist Quality Manager in customer complaint investigation and product traceability.
- Quality Control Management
- Perform, monitor, and verify quality control activities during receiving, storage, production, and shipping processes.
- Report any food safety or quality-related issues to Quality Manager, write deviation reports, and work with related departments to rectify issues.
- Assist Quality Manager in managing and controlling measuring devices, including purchase, maintenance, and calibration, and make relevant records.
- Other projects or general responsibilities as may be required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Biology, Microbiology, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance management, ideally in manufacturing workplaces.
- Strong and current knowledge and training certificates in Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) and HACCP Plan (HACCP certified is preferred).
- Familiarity with food safety and quality management systems (SQF certified is preferred).
- Strong knowledge of current regulatory requirements (CFIA required, FDA/USDA preferred).
- Strong skills in planning and organization, leadership, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork.
- Detail-oriented, assertive, and proactive thinker.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin (written and spoken).
