Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Quality Management System Development
    • Assist Quality Manager in third-party audits and internal audits.
    • Assist Quality Manager in writing SOPs, SSOPs, and quality-related policies and procedures.
    • Implement and maintain quality-related policies and procedures.
    • Perform quality-related training to new employees and contractors.
  2. Product Management
    • Participate in new product and process design and development, validate and improve existing product/process.
    • Assist Quality Manager with approval and maintenance of raw material, work in process, and finished product specifications and process documents.
  3. Supplier Management
    • Control and update the approved supplier database.
    • Work with Production Innovation and Procurement to identify available and cost-effective product materials.
  4. Managing Customer Complaints
    • Assist Quality Manager in customer complaint investigation and product traceability.
  5. Quality Control Management
    • Perform, monitor, and verify quality control activities during receiving, storage, production, and shipping processes.
    • Report any food safety or quality-related issues to Quality Manager, write deviation reports, and work with related departments to rectify issues.
    • Assist Quality Manager in managing and controlling measuring devices, including purchase, maintenance, and calibration, and make relevant records.
    • Other projects or general responsibilities as may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Biology, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance management, ideally in manufacturing workplaces.
  • Strong and current knowledge and training certificates in Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) and HACCP Plan (HACCP certified is preferred).
  • Familiarity with food safety and quality management systems (SQF certified is preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of current regulatory requirements (CFIA required, FDA/USDA preferred).
  • Strong skills in planning and organization, leadership, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork.
  • Detail-oriented, assertive, and proactive thinker.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin (written and spoken).

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
