The Quality Engineering Specialist will develop, implement, and maintain safe and quality standards. This role will recommend and implement improvements to production processes, procedures, and controls. This individual will follow the Green Belting Quality System at the factory and use Lean techniques for quality improvement. The role will identify best practices, processes, and standard work to integrate into Green Belting’s quality strategy to ensure consistent, high-quality results. This role requires an active presence on the floor, working hands in hands with machine operators and productions supervisors to implement actions.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensure utilization of quality system procedures and processes to maintain high standards of quality and reliability.
- Perform quality tests during production to identify and correct any work-in-progress issues.
- Develop operation manuals and training materials outlining operation processes.
- Ensure Green Belting quality standards for raw materials and products produced.
- Monitor the production and machinery to ensure quality.
- Responsible for the formulation of the testing procedures for quality checks.
- Develop/revise quality standards and standard work.
- Work with plants to put in place preventive measures to mitigate the risk of defects.
- Conduct internal audits and initiate corrective actions.
- Collect data, analyze, and report on the performance of quality systems at the factory level.
- Record quality test results and present.
- Prepare and maintain work instructions, setup instructions, and other related process documentation for shop floor use.
- Perform continuous improvement activities using lean tools for cost reduction, quality improvement, improved efficiency, and improved material flow.
- Assist with defect, rework, and scrap reduction related to the manufacturing processes.
- Investigate customer claims related to quality issues, identify root causes for defects, and define corrective actions.
- Send written communications to customers to follow-up on claims and provide updates on action plans implementation.
- Coordinate internal data collection across all departments and manage all conformity documents required for ISO audits.
- Assist QA & RD Director by attending ISO certification audit meetings and presentations with external auditors.
Work Conditions
Salary: Between 55 K$ to 60 K$ depending on experience and profile.
Afternoon Shift: 3 pm to 11 pm, Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week.

Experience and Skills
- A minimum of 4 years Quality Assurance experience in an ISO manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience in managing claims communication is a strong asset.
- College Degree/University Diploma in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Chemical Engineering.
- Understanding of Quality Assurance terms, tools, and methodologies as well as production technologies and systems.
- Computer Proficiency: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs (including databases) to produce documents, reports, and presentations.

- Previous experience with MRP system or ERP system.
