Job description

On behalf of our Public Sector Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a QA Engineer to join our Client's team on a contract basis. This role is Remote and the Client is based in Victoria, BC.

Summary of the Role
The QA Engineer will support a large-scale public sector initiative by leading and executing a variety of system and application-level tests to ensure solution quality. This role requires proficiency in test development, execution, and automation within an enterprise-grade environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Design and execute test scenarios for system integration and application-level testing.
  2. Conduct testing across multiple domains including performance, security, accessibility, and end-to-end validation.
  3. Develop and maintain automated testing scripts and frameworks.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify test requirements and outcomes.
  5. Utilize tools such as Zephyr, Jira, and Confluence to manage test plans, defects, and reporting.

Core Requirements

  1. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in software quality assurance roles.
  2. Experience with system integration, performance, regression, and automated testing.
  3. Demonstrated history of working with Zephyr, Jira, Confluence, and OpenShift Container Platform.
  4. Strong background in developing test strategies, plans, and reports.
  5. Educational background or equivalent experience in a related field (degree, diploma, or certificate).

Desired Skills & Experience

  1. Previous experience in public sector environments.
  2. Familiarity with BC Government core policy, compliance standards, and infrastructure hosting.
  3. Proven ability to conduct load/stress and volume testing.
  4. Experience performing accessibility and security testing.
  5. Strong understanding of Agile QA practices and methodologies.

Terms
This is a 12-month contract role with a strong probability of renewal. The successful candidate will work 100% remotely from within Canada, aligned to Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours.
